Five of us set out on 1st August 2025 to catch that fish of a thousand casts; Dan Hunwick, Andy Stebbeds, Nigel Haywood, Bruce Stenhouse and Mike Bilson. We started at 09:30 fly fishing from low water up until 14:00. There were hundreds of mullet evident and we all had endless tugs and pulls. Avoiding the micro bass was a challenge! Dan won the competition with a nice Golden Grey. Mike followed with a small Thin Lipped, and there were a couple of good consolation bass for Andy and Mike to keep the nerves jangling. As always the mullet kept us on our toes and the concentration was exhausting expecting the next cast to be the one. Great fun and fellowship.
